Design and workmanship
The body is made of alder, ash or mahogany and is available in classic Fender finishes as well as never-before-seen, modern colors. This Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS MN features an ash body with tone chambers and an Aged Cherry Burst finish , which is enhanced by the high-gloss urethane finish . The body is connected to a bolt-on maple neck with a sophisticated satin finish . The high-quality maple fretboard and the 1.650" (42 mm) nut width ensure a comfortable playing feel. Everything about the neck is designed for fast and fluid playability, from the modern "C" profile with a satin urethane finish on the back to the comfortable 9.5" radius of the maple fingerboard with rounded edges and 22 medium-jumbo frets.

Fenders berühmte, in Mexiko gefertigte Player-Serie war seit ihrer Einführung eine feste Größe innerhalb der großen Fender-Produktpalette. Player-Gitarren und -Bässe erfreuten sich insbesondere bei ambitionierten Anfängern und fortgeschritten, budgetorientierten Gitarristen großer Beliebtheit. Inzwischen ist die gute, alte Player Serie allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen und es wird Zeit für etwas Neues: Die Fender Player II-Modelle!
Wie bei der Vorgänger-Serie setzt Fender auch bei den Player II-Modellen wieder auf das Motto „Weniger ist mehr“: Die Gitarren bestehen zwar aus den selben, hochwertigen Hölzern wie ihre Verwandten aus den USA, bei der Technik wurde allerdings auf unnötigen Schick-Schnack verzichtet und der Fokus eher auf guten Klang und eine verbesserte Spielbarkeit gelegt. Dabei herausgekommen sind E-Bässe und E-Gitarren, die zwar unverkennbar dem Vintage-Fender-Look nacheifern, aber ebenso mit einem modernen Sound und Spielkomfort überzeugen können.
