With the latest release, the Waldorf company is expanding its fleet to include the digital polyphonic desktop synthesizer called IRIDIUM. With the 16-voice sound generator, Waldorf provides all sound tinkerers, producers and beat hobbyists with a new command center!
The powerful synth engine of its bigger brother Quantum is hidden under the hood of the desktop synth, which weighs just 5.4 kilograms and is suitable for rack mounting . The highlights of the IRIDIUM certainly include its strong drive and its flexibility. 3 oscillators each with five different synthesis models (wavetable, waveform (virtual analogue), particle, resonator, kernel) of which the kernel synthesis can convert an oscillator into up to six sub-oscillators, a flexible internal routing system and 3 digital filters per voice You can create the craziest sounds with the IRIDIUM. When it comes to sound design, the large color touchscreen keeps you up to date at all times. As soon as a button moves, the IRIDIUM provides visual feedback of the change in real time on the screen. It hasn't been this much fun to move filter curves, change particle sizes or warp envelopes in a long time.
The 4x4 silicon pad matrix and the clearly structured user interface round off the features of the IRIDIUM. Waldorf have once again underlined their status in the screwdriver heaven with a new and exciting synthesizer.
