Universal Audio OX Amp
The Universal Audio OX Amp is much more than just an attenuator . The functionality goes far beyond that. The OX Amp is a reactive loadbox with many built-in microphone and loudspeaker emulations in order to be able to record the guitar and, above all, the amplifier well. The OX Amp makes it possible to play a tube amplifier at full volume without the neighbors having to notice.

Reactive load box
Thanks to decades of experience in the development of audio hardware , Universal Audio has succeeded in developing a reactive loadbox that perfectly captures the dynamics , sound and feel of an amplifier. This opens up a large quantity of new possibilities; you can simply play a fully turned up tube amplifier through headphones or simply import it directly into DAW software . It is important to mention that the OX Amp is limited to a maximum amplifier power of 150 watts .
Microphone and speaker emulation
A large part of the sound of an amplifier is determined by the respective speaker. In order to capture this part of the experience, many microphones and speaker cabs are programmed into the OX Amp. This means that your own amplifier can be virtually connected to legendary speakers and recorded with first-class microphones. To make the sound even more realistic, even the spatial sound around the virtual speaker is emulated and reproduced.

software
In order to be able to use the extensive functions, the OX Amp has many control options. In addition to the controls on the hardware , the OX Amp can also be controlled remotely using a free app. Profiles can be created and settings saved using the app for iOS and Android . Up to 6 of your profiles can even be saved on the OX Amp itself and selected and used via a RIG knobs without connecting to the app.
connections
The OX Amp forms an entire guitar studio in one device. In order to do justice to the possibilities that the hardware offers, you will find a variety of different connections on the front and back of the top box. In addition to what is probably the most important connection, the headphone jack directly on the front, there are also USB , S/PDIF , line out and a speaker connection .

Pioneer in audio recordings for more than 50 years
Founded in 1958 by Bill Putnam Sr., Universal Audio has always been synonymous with innovative recording equipment . A favorite engineer of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and others, Bill was a passionate innovator who is considered the Vater of modern audio recording. Many of his legendary studio and equipment designs are still used today. B. Putnam was the inventor of the modern Sound console , des Multiband audio equalizer and he was the first engineer to artificial reverberation used in commercial recordings. Alongside his friend Les Paul, Bill was also involved in the early development of stereophonic recording.
Putnam, known as a busy entrepreneur, founded three audio product companies during his long career: Universal Audio , Studio Electronics and Urei . All three companies built equipment that was widely used upon introduction and would shape studio sound for generations. The boutique compressors LA-2A and 1176 and the 610 tube console are among these legends. With the 610 mixing console, greats like... Sinatra , the Beach Boys and Van Halen their studio albums.
Universal Audio was re-founded in 1999 by Bill's sons James Putnam and Bill Putnam Jr. A twofold approach was planned: On the one hand, the classic analogue recording devices were to be faithfully reproduced in the tradition of his father; and on the other hand, the sound and spirit of Vintage analog technology should be in the new digital recording tools are used.
Impressive effects pedals for guitarists and special guitar recording tools such as the Universal Audio OX are now also part of the range and are extremely popular with fans of outstanding sound.
