Taylor Guitars celebrates five decades of guitar making with strictly limited special edition models that showcase premium tonewoods, exquisite appointments, exacting craftsmanship and the innovative spirit that defines the Taylor Guitar heritage. The 316ce is one of these models.
What makes a baritone guitar special
Producing rich, deep tones that bridge the gap between standard and bass guitars, baritones offer a unique sonic texture. Any musician seeking to expand their tonal range or add a different color to their sound should try one. They’re ideal for players with lower vocal ranges and those who like a detuned sound. Taylor has a history of crafting baritone guitars, including 6- and 8-string models, and even a 9-string made for Taylor's 35th Anniversary in 2009. The 50th Anniversary 316ce Baritone-6 is a natural extension of that heritage. Our baritones feature a lower B tuning and a 27-inch scale length.
A special 300 series guitar
This limited-edition 6-string pairs solid sapele back and sides with a torrefied Sitka spruce top in a gloss-finished Grand Symphony body. Together, these tonewoods yield woody lows, pristine highs and a meaty midrange, with an extra splash of played-in sweetness thanks to the roasted soundboard. Taylor's baritone bracing pattern ensures a powerful bass response while promoting clarity and balance across the tonal spectrum. A slim Taylor neck delivers a familiar, hand-friendly playing experience.

Visual details include Gemstone fretboard and peghead inlays in Italian acrylic, a black 3-ring rosette, black body and fretboard binding, black/white/black edge trim and rosette purfling, a firestripe fauxtortoiseshell pickguard; and a shaded edgeburst body and neck. Taylor gold tuners, ebony bridge pins with gold acrylic dots and a commemorative label inside round out the 50th Anniversary appointments. It comes equipped with an onboard ES2 pickup and ships in a Deluxe Hardshell Case. Production is limited to 1,974 guitars worldwide, so it's worth being quick!
