The Sandberg bass company was founded in 1987 by Holger Stonjek and a business partner in Braunschweig. The company then quickly made a name for itself in the woofer community, because Sandberg 's appearance, sound, quality and, last but not least, price are right. Lovers of classic designs - California models - as well as modern look and feel - e.g. Basic, Panther, Custom and Bullet models will find what they are looking for. Sandberg now also offers models under the name Electra that are not produced in Germany, but must meet the same high quality standards as the regular basses.
Since 2010, the Florence, California ST and DC models have also included electric guitars in the range, which, like the basses, have what it takes to become modern classics.
