The KH 150 is a powerful bi-amp studio monitor in the reference class. Its 6.5” woofer in the bass reflex enclosure offers amazing player with unchanged clarity at low and high sound pressure levels. The DSP-controlled electronics guarantee a linear phase response and enable room-adaptive measurement via the revolutionary MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment system from Neumann.
What You Hear Is What You Get
The KH 150 follows the same philosophy as all Neumann studio monitors: maximum linearity, lowest distortion, color-free and perfect adaptability to all acoustic environments. This way you can hear every nuance of your tracks. When you no longer have to rely on estimates, mixing becomes much quicker and easier - and above all, it becomes more creative: Sounds great, but can I do it like this? Is the singing bright or does it contain too many sibilance? Do you hear too much bass? The KH 150 will tell you. Honestly.
One size bigger
What sets the KH 150 apart from its smaller siblings is its deeper bass reproduction of up to 39 Hz. This is almost as deep as the larger KH 310 model and is made possible by the new, high-precision 6.5" woofer in the KH 150, which Housed in a carefully designed bass reflex enclosure . This makes the KH 150 perfect for urban music, EDM, film music and all styles that require an extended listening spectrum in the low and high range. Thanks to powerful amplifier (145 W/100 W) and sophisticated protective limiters, no clarity is lost even at high sound pressure levels. At the same time, the KH 150 is a real all-rounder that works equally well with every genre from rock to classical, for radio and television as well as for voice-over applications. The KH 150 has an exceptional linear frequency response of 39 Hz to 21 kHz (±3 dB). What's more: it also offers a linear phase progression! This is evident in the clear middle tones with astonishing transparency and extreme accuracy in the temporal domain, i.e. with precise impulse reproduction and high-resolution reverb. This is made possible by the DSP-controlled electronics: This allows sophisticated crossover to be achieved and the phase distortions caused by analog filters are avoided. At the same time, the internal DSP sets new standards in tone consistency, because the KH 150 is designed for extremely low tolerances of a maximum of ± 0.8 dB! And you can hear this too: the stereo imaging is razor-sharp.
Ready for your space
Even the best loudspeaker only sounds as good as the acoustic environment allows. Neumann 's Mathematically Modeled Dispersion™ Waveguide (MMD™) ensures a large sweet spot and minimal reflections through the mixer. But the KH 150 goes far beyond that: its internal DSP enables room adjustment using Neumann's revolutionary Automatic Monitor Alignment System. The MA 1 (sold separately) ensures that your DSP-controlled monitors are optimally measured for your room and are perfectly calibrated for your listening position. Even in acoustically optimized rooms, this ensures a significant improvement.
Energy efficiency
Neumann 's sound engineers have worked extensively to develop patent-pending amplifier technology that combines outstanding audio quality with Class D energy efficiency. Although the KH 150's amplifier supply the 6.5" woofer with up to 145 W and the 1" woofer with up to 100 W, they only consume 17 W when idle. An optional auto standby mode can also be activated to reduce power consumption to 0.3 W when the KH 150 is not in use.
