The Matriarch from Moog is a semi-modular and paraphonic analog synthesizer based on Bob Moog's classic synthesizer circuits. Visually, the Matriarch impresses with its classic yet modern look, which is based on the intuitive color design of the Moog Grandmother. It features four oscillators, a built-in and extensive 256-step sequencer and arpeggiator as well as stereo ladder filter and an analog stereo delay. A wide range of interesting sounds can be created via the 90 patch points. And the Matriarch’s focus is clearly on experimentation. The analog sound machine is rounded off by a full-size Fatar keyboard with 49 velocity-sensitive keys. The Matriarch can also be synchronized with other devices via midi and can therefore be perfectly integrated into any setup.
The latest firmware v1.3.0 is now available for free download from the manufacturer's website.
The update includes bug fixes, new features based on user requests, a patchbook for exploration, how-to videos, and much more.
In addition to improvements to midi and CV functionality, Matriarch firmware v1.3.0 adds pitch wheel information to the KB-CV output for new modulation possibilities and user-selectable velocity curves to improve dynamic playing.
