The Split Tone pad, developed with Anika Nilles, has three different surfaces for different playing feelings, different volumes and a deliberately reduced rebound behavior on the back. This means that this pad offers much more than just the familiar practice of rudiments. With the Split Tone pad you can creatively implement your own, systematic approach to improve your accuracy and evenness combined with independence, power and dynamics. Another special features of this pads is the ability to train your hearing and understanding of special rhythms. The middle zone has normal rebound behavior and is perfect for practicing as usual. The additional red zones have a higher sound than the main area. If these are only played with the right or left hand, the exercises are divided into two different sounds, which means that you can also hear familiar stickings in a new way. The soft, oval zone on the top offers a muted sound. If you integrate this area into your hand set, it is possible to focus your attention on the other hand in order to identify errors and weak points there and improve them. The playing area on the back has less rebound thanks to a special finish . With it you can warm up quickly and gain additional strength. If you play the pad on the top, the special back also prevents it from slipping on a smooth finish.
