This guitar features newly customized scalloped bracing. The bottom has been radiused to produce a wider range of sounds, with an emphasis on the classic earthy Maton sounds , resulting in a stronger bass response. The neck was made from solid blackwood and, in keeping with the Australian theme, now has a fretboard and bridge made from desert acacia (mulga). Finally, the Australian series now comes with the new Maton UV-Cured finish - a finer layer of varnish for better tone. A new Mother Of Pearl Australian decal adorns this exciting new guitar. This instrument is made entirely from tree species native to Australia!
The Australian Series is the culmination of over 50 years of Maton guitar building using Australian wood. It shows Australia's native woods at their best. bottom and sides made from beautiful Australian Blackwood, a close relative of the Hawaiian Koa Acacia, combined with a Blackwood neck produce a full, balanced tone. This uniquely Australian guitar stands on par with the finest instruments the world has to offer.
