Who is Shawn Mendes?
Shawn Peter Raul Mendes was born in Toronto in 1998 to Portuguese and English parents and is a successful pop singer and songwriter.
He attracted particular attention on Twitter, YouTube and Vine, where he released a cover version of Hometown Glory by Adele in 2012. At the age of 15, he was signed to Island Records. Largely unsupported by radio and television, he secured a large fan base online and reached 3.8 million views on Vine, while he also recorded high view numbers on YouTube.
His debut album Handwritten was released in mid-April 2015, reaching number 12 in the UK and the top 5 in Sweden and Portugal. In Canada and the USA, Mendes was the second Canadian after Justin Bieber to reach number 1 in the charts with his debut album at the age of 16. With Stitches, his third single from Handwritten, released in May 2015, he achieved a number one position in the British charts for the first time with a single. In 2016, he received the People's Choice Award for Favourite Breakout Artist and was awarded the MTV EMA for Best Male Artist.
His most successful songs include Life of the Party, Stitches, Treat You Better, There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back and Señorita, a song he released together with his girlfriend at the time, Camila Cabello.

An affordable signature guitar for Shawn Mendes' Fans
Inspired by Shawn's go-to vintage Martin guitar combined with Shawn's signature visual features, every detail of the guitar was designed and built in close collaboration with Shawn Mendes. The result is a guitar that has it all. It sounds fantastic, it's extremely comfortable, and best of all, it's built in an environmentally friendly way. And of course it has the legendary Martin tone.
Shawn wanted an affordable model for his fans with sustainably sourced materials. Martin understood this and designed a model that is made from 100% FSC® certified tonewoods. The body is a 000 Junior 14-Fret, a slightly smaller version of the auditorium-style guitars. This makes it equally comfortable to play for all guitarists.
One of the personal features of this guitar is Shawn's swallow tattoo - engraved on the bridge. In addition, there is a hidden personal text from Shawn inside the guitar - have fun discovering it! It also has Shawn's signature on the fretboard.
The guitar comes with a built-in Fishman® Sonitone pickup and a blue gig bag made from recycled plastic water bottles.
