The Korg microKORG should be known to every musician by now and probably needs no further introduction. Yes, even non-musicians will have noticed the mini synthesizer with its retro applications on one stage or another. No wonder, after all, the living synthesizer legend has been on tour for 20 years and is at home in home recording and studio setups around the world.

After two decades and numerous special editions - most recently the microKORG Crystal was the talk of the town - Korg is launching the next revolution from its own ranks on the synthesizer market. The Korg microKORG 2 is set to follow in the footsteps of the original version and not only fill them, but make them even bigger.

The basis of the microKORG 2 is of course based on the popular aspects of the original. These include the handy dimensions, the easy-to-play mini-keyboard with 37 keys, genre selection via the large rotary control and, of course, the built-in vocoder with matching gooseneck microphone. In addition to the iconic features, there are also numerous new features that will make fans' hearts beat faster.

The new microKORG 2 offers a completely redesigned, versatile sound generator, significantly expanded sound programs, a visually appealing user interface and a 2.8-inch LCD color display. The latter not only makes editing easier and more intuitive, but also provides precise feedback on the current settings at all times. Both the parameter changes and the actual sounds are shown graphically on the display. Those who have enjoyed the vocoder sounds can look forward to a very powerful voice processor. In addition to the vocoder, the microKORG 2 also offers harmonizer and hard tuning effects. In addition, a new loop recorder invites you to jam spontaneously in the studio, rehearsal room or on stage.

Big-Knob

The new microKorg 2 retains the iconic genre selection via the big knob, which allows intuitive navigation through the sounds, as well as the five dedicated edit knobs for quick manipulation of the various sound parameters. The bank selection concept has been expanded with a new category system that divides the sounds into different time contexts such as "Classical", "Modern" and "Future".

LCD color display

The microKorg 2's user interface is equipped with a 2.8-inch color LCD display. Edit sounds visually with animated parameter displays and use the five edit controls for quick results. Want to see how your changes affect the sound? A simple push of a button changes the display view to an oscilloscope, allowing you to watch your sound come to life.

User-friendly

The microKorg 2's redesigned user interface opens up new and surprisingly easy ways to create sounds. Familiar for experts and intuitive for beginners, the interface invites you to explore the sonic boundaries without sacrificing the typical workflow of the original microKorg.

Voice processor

The original microKorg was known for its easy-to-use vocoder and accompanying gooseneck microphone, which is one of the reasons for its continued popularity decades later.

The new microKorg takes this concept and takes it to the next level by offering a brand new, powerful voice processor. In addition to the classic vocoder effects, the new voice processor features popular hard tune effects for pitch correction as well as a harmonizer that can be used to change the pitch of your own voice or add additional harmony voices. The voice can also be enriched with reverb, delay and other effects.

Looping, overdubbing and step sequencing

Loop-Recorder

The new microKorg has an integrated loop recorder that can be used to create backing tracks through looping and overdubbing - ideal for rousing live performances. The three dedicated buttons for record, play/pause and undo/redo ensure a particularly intuitive looper experience. The recording and playback settings can be easily adjusted via easily accessible menus, so anyone can get started right away.

Arpeggiator

Of course, the microKorg wouldn't be complete without its built-in, easy-to-use arpeggiator. Thanks to various patterns (up, down, up/down, etc.) and its illuminated step sequencer buttons, creative melodies can be produced in no time at all. And thanks to the combination of loop recorder and arpeggiator, huge soundscapes and new worlds of sound are waiting to be explored by you.

Sound selection made easy!

To expand its legendary sound palette, the new microKorg offers a genre-based category and bank selection function that provides quick access to the incredibly versatile selection of sounds in the "Classic", "Modern" and "Future" categories. This genre-based category and bank selection function allows the user to quickly find suitable sounds for a variety of genres without having to search through tedious presets. The three banks each contain eight categories, which in turn contain eight sound programs. In addition, there is a user bank with a further 64 memory locations for your own sound creations or personal favorite sounds.

Virtual-analog sound generation

The microKorg is a virtual analog synthesizer that emulates analog circuitry. An important feature of virtual analog synthesizers is that there are no physical limitations on what the circuit can look like, so you can create your very own sound, limited only by your imagination.

Despite its compact form factor, the microKorg 2 has a virtual patching function familiar to experienced users of analog synthesizers. Using the graphical user interface, you can quickly and easily create your own patch connections to create detailed and interesting sounds.

Effects
Massively improved!

Three effect blocks with nine new modulation types (with dynamic effects) and six delay and reverb types have been developed for even more flexibility and to extend the sound possibilities as far as possible. The three effect blocks can be switched on and off separately and the dry/wet ratio of the effects can be set independently of each other.

The signal passes through the effects section and is then fed into a 2-band parametric equalizer with adjustable bass and treble to finalize the character of the sound. In this way, you can create new sounds with the microKorg 2 alone, without having to resort to additional mixers or effects units.

Mini keyboard
Compact & comfortable

The keyboard of the new microKorg 2 has been redesigned to change the spacing between the black and white keys to ensure even better playability. It is a mini keyboard with a natural feel that is ideal for playing fast phrases. The front-closed keys offer a high-quality feel and are also suitable for glissandi.

The 37-key keyboard also has two octave shift keys, which are in exactly the right place and are invaluable for live performances. This allows you to concentrate fully on playing without having to worry about the settings.

Performance on the go

The new microKorg 2 is easy to transport: It is only 54.2 cm wide and weighs 2.1 kg (without batteries and microphone). The instrument can be operated either with the supplied mains adapter or with six AA batteries, so that the microKORG can be used practically anywhere.

Two limited color variants

To celebrate the launch of the new microKORG, two limited edition color variants of the instrument are available for a short time. In addition to the control surface and the side panels, the Program Select knob and the pitch bend and modulation wheels are made of aluminum on these models.

One variant is the cool Metallic Black model, the other the beautiful Metallic White model with a combination of pearl white and silver accents. Matching soft cases in the respective color are also available for the limited special models.
