Product information

Joe Strummer was born the son of a British diplomat. When he was still at school he had promised a friend that he would become a pop star. When he finished school he went to several art schools to study graphic design. But music took up more and more of his time, so he soon gave up his design studies and returned to London. There he formed the rock band The 101ers , which he left after just one release to join the unknown punk band London SS , who from then on called themselves The Clash and became famous under that name. Strummer sang and played his Fender Telecaster, which, combined with Mick Jones' special guitar riffs, produced some important punk tracks and, with London Calling, one of the most successful albums in history. After the resolution of The Clash, Strummer released his first solo LP, Earthquake Weather , in 1989. In 1995, he accompanied British Celtic folk punkers The Levellers on piano for their UK top 12 single Just The One . After a long creative break, his next solo album , Rock Art And The X-Ray Style, was released in 1999. In 2001, he released another and final album.

Featuring Joe Strummer Signature '60s Telecaster-style single-coil pickups, players can capture the classic Tele twang and sound that made his songs so famous. These road-worn pickup help you recreate the look of a well-played Vintage instrument, while the Alnico 5 magnets and polysol wire provide focus and dynamics.
