With the new D-40 models from the USA Standard series , Guild Guitars is introducing the first guitars with the new, in-house Vintage Gloss Nitro finish . This finish is a wafer-thin nitrocellulose varnish that enhances the guitar's natural beauty while still allowing the wood to vibrate more freely than traditional finishes. The finish is sprayed on by hand and gives the guitar a well-rehearsed feeling right from the start.
This new version of the Guild D-40 Standard offers the ultimate dreadnought sound. With its solid body consisting of Sitka spruce bottom and African mahogany back and sides, the D-40 Standard offers remarkable volume, clarity and sustain, perfect for many musical applications, from vocal accompaniment to solo work and many other unplugged Applications. The sound -shifted The Guild D-40 Standard exudes Vintage charm with timeless features such as a tortoise celluloid pickguard, white ABS binding and the Guild Peak logo inlay on the headstock. An Indian rosewood fretboard crowns the comfortable C-profile mahogany neck . High-quality materials such as a rosewood bridge, 20:1 open-back tuning machines and a hand-ground, compensated bone saddle round off the Guild D-40 Standard. Each Guild D-40 Standard comes with a wooden case with a built-in humicase system for humidifying the guitar when traveling.
In addition to the classic Natural finish, Guild 's new 40 Standard series also includes the new Pacific Sunset Burst for the first time. Inspired by Guild's Southern California home, this new finish embodies casual elegance with a subtle edge burst.
