Olli's favourite model now as a Masterbuilt

For years, session and the Fender Custom Shop have been successful co-operation partners, working together to design and launch new and interesting instruments. Our Fender and session teams work hand in hand to inspire our customers with new guitar and bass creations. Of course, our in-house Custom Shop guru and Fender fanatic Olli Lohmann, who has already created the successful Fender Custom Shop Dealer Select series, has a particularly large part to play in this.
When the two Fender master builders Andy Hicks and David Brown visited us in our Frankfurt branch, Olli introduced them to our popular Dealer Select HSS Strat, which Olli had customised to his personal preferences. The two of them were enthusiastic about Olli's ideas and our guitar, so they immediately agreed to build us not just one, but several different Masterbuilt models with specs selected by Olli himself.

Introducing: Your Dream Instrument from Fender

Fender Custom Shop 1959 Stratocaster JRN RW HSS FLDRS OWT MBDB Masterbuilt David Brown 1

We know what it means to find the instrument of your dreams. And we also know that first impressions matter. That’s why all instruments are carefully checked and perfectly tuned before shipping. Including this beautiful piece here.

Every info for your decision

Like its predecessors from the Teambuilt Custom Shop, this new Dealer Select is once again modelled on a 1959 Fender Stratocaster with HSS pickups, Olli's absolute favourite model from the American cult manufacturer. The Fender Custom Shop 1959 Stratocaster JRN RW HSS FLDRS OWT MBDB therefore adopts the majority of the specifications from the previous Dealer Select Strats - with a few interesting changes.

The Fender Custom Shop 1959 Stratocaster JRN RW HSS FLDRS OWT MBDB is a classic ST-style electric guitar with a two-piece alder body. Alder wood was already used in the original Stratocaster guitars and provides the basis for the perfect vintage sound. The body wood was selected by hand to ensure a particularly light weight and thus improve playing comfort. The aged maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and 22 jumbo nickel silver frets is in an ultra-comfortable ‘60s style oval C profile and is fitted with a compound fingerboard radius of 9.5” - 12” offering the perfect compromise between vintage feel and modern comfort and making it easier for the left hand to grip. The guitar is equipped with a modern H-S-S pickup combination of a Seymour Duncan EVH ‘78 humbucker in zebra look at the bridge, a Fender Custom Shop Handwound Fat 50s single coil and a Fender Custom Shop Handwound ’59 single coil with reversed winding and polarity at the neck position. The humbucker also has an auto-split function. Other features include Fender Vintage Style tuners, control knobs in Aged White, a 4-ply white pearl pickguard and a Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo Bridge. With the Floyd Rose tremolo and its saddle, endless retuning is a thing of the past. It allows you to create extreme vibrato effects without the guitar going out of tune.

This model is painted in a classic Olympic White colour. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish ensures that the wood can vibrate particularly well and that the lacquer finish ages more beautifully. This is about the look and feel of a guitar that has been loved and played. If you play your instrument often, it's a simple truth that your guitar will eventually show signs of wear. Even for players who take great care of their guitars, a fall off the stand, other people's hands or even a mysterious-looking dent can take its toll. Each of these marks adds character to the guitar. And that's what you get with the Journeyman Relic Level from Fender Custom Shop. A well-maintained instrument that has been played, played on and loved. All of our Dealer Select Masterbuilts with Journeyman Relic were crafted by David Brown.

The Fender Custom Shop 1959 Stratocaster JRN RW HSS FLDRS OWT MBDB comes with a certificate of authenticity in a luxurious original Fender Custom Shop case, which you can use to transport your new dream guitar safely and protect it from external influences. A Fender Custom Shop strap is also included.
