Tested in arenas around the world, the Wolfgang Special is a thoroughbred music machine that will impress you with breathtaking style, gigantic sound and fast-paced playability. The Wolfgang Special QM has a basswood body with an arched maple top and a robust, graphite-reinforced, screw-on neck made of baked quartersawn maple. The neck is carved and rolled to Eddie Van Halen's exacting specifications and features a hand-rubbed satin urethane coating on the back. The 12"-16" compound fretboard made of baked maple with 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays is perfect for high demands, energetic riffing and fast-paced leads. Adjusting the truss rod has never been easier than it is today, thanks to a practical wheel at the base of the neck.
Two specially designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking pickup are mounted directly in the body, providing dynamic yet articulate tonality and endless sustain for powerful chords and melodies. A stable and reliable Floyd Rose Locking Trem and Floyd Rose Locking Saddle ensure precise tuning even with extreme pitch changes, while the EVH D-Tuna tunes to Drop-D and back with the snap of a finger. The volume control with treble bleed circuit has a 500K EVH Bourns low friction pot for smooth swell and a tone controls with a 250K Bourns high friction tone control to prevent accidental movement of the control.
