Tested in arenas all over the world, the Wolfgang Special is a purebred music machine that will win you over with breathtaking style, gigantic sound and rapid playability. The Wolfgang Special QM has a basswood body with an arched maple top and a robust, graphite-reinforced, bolt-on neck made of baked, quartersawn maple. The neck is carved and rolled to Eddie Van Halen's strict specifications and has a hand-rubbed, satin urethane coating on the back. The 12"-16" compound fretboard made of baked maple with 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays is made for high demands, energetic riffing and fast-paced leads. Adjusting the truss rod has never been easier than it is today, thanks to a practical wheel on the base of the neck.
Two custom-designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking pickup are mounted directly in the body for dynamic yet articulate tone and endless sustain for powerful chords and melodies. A stable and reliable Floyd Rose locking trem and Floyd Rose locking saddle ensure precise tuning even with extreme pitch changes, while the EVH D-Tuna tunes to drop D and back with the snap of a finger. The volume control with treble bleed circuit has a 500K EVH Bourns low friction pot for smooth swell and a tone controls with a 250K Bourns high friction tone control that prevents accidental movement of the control.
