The EVH 5150 Iconic Series meets the needs of gigging and recording guitarists who crave the powerful EVH tube sound, but at a more affordable price. An evolution of the EVH 5150III amplifier model , the Iconic Series delivers the piercing sound and growling amplification that made Eddie Van Halen famous during his groundbreaking career.
Designed by renowned amp engineer James Brown, the 5150 Iconic Series 40-Watt 1x12 Combo is powered by two EL34 power amp valves and features a complex, multi-stage hybrid preamp section fed by a duet of ECC83 tubes that deliver all the power the modern guitarist needs. The enclosure is constructed from MDF with a special plywood panel that provides tight and enhanced bass response, and houses an EVH 12" Celestion loudspeaker designed specifically for this preamp circuit, so the pristine cleans and piercing high- gain sounds are tight, clear and articulate.
This powerful amplifier model features two channels , each with an additional voicing for even more versatility. The green channel features an overdrive switches that lets you go from clean tones to increased gain , while the red channel's Burn switches delivers fiery crunch that's perfect for fast-paced leads.
Each channel has its own gain and Volume controls, allowing volume to be adjusted when switching between the clean and high gain channels. The second channel's Noise gate suppresses any noise, ensuring any staccato riffs are articulate and crisp rather than suppressed and chopped. The Boost controls lets you boost your tone by a further 10dB - perfect for making sure your solos cut through the mix. The control panel also includes a shared equalizer (low, mid and high), global Resonance and Presence controls to adjust the low and high end aspects of the sounds , and a global reverb controls to dial in the perfect level of reverb and decay for any room.
Other features include a two-button footswitch, an effects loop, two parallel speaker outputs, a ¼ power switches to reduce wattage - so you can turn the amp up and still get the sound without disturbing your neighbor's privacy - and a DI-XLR connection with power amp mute for precise EVH tube sound for direct recording or use through a PA system.
The 5150 Iconic Series 40-watt 1x12 combo is wrapped in black vinyl with a black cloth front grille and features gold and black 5150 and EVH logo plaques in the upper left and lower right corners, highlighting the unmistakable EVH style. This all-tube combo features a brushed gold anodized aluminum cover, Vintage -style chicken- head controls, and a black plastic handle.
