The name Epiphone should be known to every guitarist, as it stands for high-quality instruments with the best workmanship at fair prices. Founded in Greece in 1873 and based in New York from 1903, the small manufacturer of lutes and violins over time became one of the largest instrument making companies in the world. 2023 marks the 150th year of Epiphone company history. Of course, this needs to be celebrated, which is why Epiphone is introducing the limited edition 150th Anniversary Collection this year. The collection consists of four instruments that are modeled down to the last detail on Epiphone 's historical models. Each instrument in the 150th Anniversary Collection has been designed with great attention to detail and is in no way inferior to its historical models.
The first Epiphone Wilshire came onto the market in 1959. For the 1963 model year, the guitar was fundamentally changed and received an asymmetrical form with rounded edges and two mini humbuckers. It was largely offered in this configuration for the remainder of its production life, and the Anniversary model also remains true to this design. Modern modifications include Wilkinson tuning machines, a 3-way Switchcraft switches and CTS potentiometer.

When you think of Epiphone , you immediately think of Gibson, as the manufacturer of guitars, basses, amplifiers and accessories has been part of the company since 1957. Epiphone mainly offers instruments from the low to mid-price segment. This means that beginners also have the opportunity to buy electric guitar and bass classics such as Les Paul, SG, Explorer, Firebird, ES-335 or Thunderbird for little money. There are also instruments from the old days of Epiphone, Casino, Wildkat, Riviera and Wilshire. Beginners should take a closer look at Epiphone 's entry-level sets in the areas of electric guitar, western guitar and electric bass.
