Product information

David Grissom and PRS Guitars have worked together on guitar design since the late 1980s and began collaborating on electric guitar amplifiers in the early 2000s. David's extensive experience with Vintage guitars coupled with PRS' meticulous understanding of guitar and amplifier construction have resulted in highly sought-after products. The PRS DGT and PRS SE DGT remain among the company's most popular signature models.

The PRS DGT 15 was designed from the ground up to rival David Grissom's favorite Vintage amps. From snappy cleans to heavy overdrive , this 15-watt, single-channel amplifier model naturally offers tones beyond the typical limitations that other amps of this type can bring. It's a versatile amplifier model with the same sound quality as a lower- power Vintage tube amp, but is also fully usable in a modern setting. The DGT 15 is equipped with several highly functional sound processing features. Starting with a 3-band TMB (Treble, Middle, Bass) tone stack, the DGT 15 also features a 3-position Bright switch, Boost, reverb, Top Cut, and Presence controls on the front panel. But it's not just the controls, it's the combination of the controls and control parameters that make up the extreme functionality of this amp. The master volume can be turned on, off, or with just the boost. The tremolo circuit makes the power of the power tube vibrate (old school) and has speed and depth controls on the front panel that you can set exactly how you want it. The included 3-button footswitch allows you to control boost, reverb , and tremolo . All of these features allow you to find and shape your sound with the PRS DGT 15 amplifier model .

About PRS

PRS Guitars sets its own standards when it comes to electric guitars. At session you will find not only the high class PRS custom shop guitars but also models from the mid-price range and electric basses from PRS. At NAMM 2016, PRS is taking a look into the past and, with the CE 24 models, has been presenting guitars with screw-on neck and maple necks in their main range for many years, which offer an interesting alternative to traditional construction. Later, the collaboration with John Mayer resulted in an incredibly successful instrument, the Silver Sky series, which was initially supplemented by additional colors and later by a cheaper SE series .

Through his great passion for guitar building and meticulous research and optimization of his models, company founder Paul Reed Smith has been creating instruments that are rightly considered true works of art for over 40 years. Not only guitar legends like Carlos Santana play the high-quality PRS guitars from the standard series, the exclusive Private Stock or even the cheaper SE production.

Paul Reed Smith is making a name for himself

The American guitar maker PRS Guitars was officially founded in 1985, but the company's founder and namesake, Paul Reed Smith, has been making guitars since around 1975. By giving his guitars to stars like Carlos Santana, Al Di Meola and Peter Frampton and convincing them directly, his instruments became more and more famous. Series production of the Custom 24 finally began in 1985. With former Gibson President Ted McCarty, Paul Reed Smith was able to gain an experienced consultant and the course was set for success for the guitars with the typical bird inlays in the fretboard .

Every guitar is a custom shop model

PRS guitars tend to be in the higher price ranges because of the high-quality materials and careful workmanship. The SE line, which has been manufactured in Korea and is of a high quality despite cheaper materials, has existed since the 1990s. The S2 series forms a link because the instruments are made in the USA, but are still quite affordable.

PRS calls all instruments custom shop instruments due to the high quality and customization options, but with the private stock instruments the company goes one step further and sets real standards in terms of materials, quality, originality and individuality. All PRS guitars have one thing in common: they are real workhorses with a lot of flexibility and look outrageously good at the same time. This can also be seen in the countless endorsers who swear by their PRS , as well as the numerous signature models from artists such as John Mayer, Carlos Santana, Orianthi, Mark Tremonti and Chad Kroeger.
