The Artiphon company was founded in 2011 by Dr. Mike Butera in Nashville, Tennessee and consists of designers, musicians and engineers from influential companies such as Space X, Blue Origin, Line 6 and Yamaha. Artiphon is committed to creating a world in which everyone can be musical and music plays a central role in life. The Artiphon Orba is an intelligent combination of synthesizer, looper and midi controllers that comes to life in the palm of your hand but can also easily disappear in your jacket pocket. You can use it to create songs or capture initial ideas “in no time.” The 8 touchpads react to even the slightest touch and also recognize a variety of gestures such as tapping, stroking and vibrato. Inside there is a 4-part polyphonic synthesizer with subtractive and physical modeling sounds and enables a wide range of drum, bass, chord and lead sounds. In addition, the accelerometer and gyroscope also enable multi-dimensional movements such as waving, tilting and shaking, ideal for control other sounds and effects.
