The German company ADAM Audio develops, manufactures and sells high-end speakers for professional use. Founded in Berlin in 1999 and still based there today, ADAM Audio has developed from an insider tip into a real pioneer and global player in loudspeaker development . The idea for the name ADAM Audio comes from the specially developed Advanced Dynamic Audio Monitor.
The foundation for success was laid by the newly developed X- ART tweeter , which is based on Oskar Heil's Air Motion Transformer, which was created in the 1960s. With the X- ART tweeter, the sound is not generated with a piston-shaped diaphragm , as was usual until then, but with a lamella-like folded film that is inserted in the tweeter. This propels the air four times faster than it moves on its own. In fact, the Advanced Dynamic Audio Monitors quickly became the new benchmark in professional monitoring.
The newly developed tweeter immediately became the epitome of a crystal-clear, high-resolution sound and is the most famous of all ADAM Audio developments. Further progress has also been achieved through the use of modern materials such as magnets made from rare earth metals and high-strength membrane films, as well as the new designs that have become possible as a result. In the course of constant further development, a successor to the renowned X- ART tweeter has already been designed: the S- ART tweeter . New HPS and MPS waveguides milled from solid aluminum were also developed to improve radiation, projection and imaging of the sound and to enlarge the sweet spot of the loudspeaker .
Even in times of mass mechanical production, all ADAM Audio products are carefully manufactured and tested by hand in the Berlin factory. ADAM Audio employs over 60 people worldwide and is represented in more than 75 countries. The fan base , consisting of well-known recording studios as well as completely satisfied hi-fi listeners who use ADAM Audio products, is large and continues to grow.
