About Lee Malia
Lee David Malia was born on 4 June 1987 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. He began learning the guitar at a young age with the help of his parents, who were also musicians. Lee listened to a lot of classic rock and metal as a child, from the Eagles to Dire Straits and Metallica, which inspired him to start playing guitar. He completed his schooling at Stocksbridge High School, where he met Oliver "Oli" Sykes and founded the band Bring Me The Horizon with him. Lee had previously been a member of a Metallica tribute band and a punk cover band.
Lee and Oli founded Bring Me The Horizon in 2004 together with bassist Matt Kean and drummer Matt Nicholls. After signing to UK independent label Visible Noise, the band released their first full-length studio album Count Your Blessings in 2006, which reached the Top 100 of the UK Albums Chart and the Top 10 of the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart. The follow-up Suicide Season from 2008 reached the top 50 of the UK charts and debuted at number 107 on the Billboard 200 in the USA.
After two further studio albums and hit singles such as Sleepwalking, Go to Hell, for Heaven's Sake and Can You Feel My Heart, the song Drown was released in 2014, which was the first song from Bring Me The Horizon to reach the Top 20 of the UK Singles Chart and topped the UK Rock & Metal Singles Chart.
The band has released seven studio albums, two live albums and a remix album to date. The eighth studio album titled Post Human: Nex Gen is due to be released in 2024. An extensive tour is also being planned.
