Who is Dave Grohl?
David "Dave" Eric Grohl is an American rock musician and multi-instrumentalist. He was the drummer for the bands Scream, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age and Tenacious D. Since 1995 he has been the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the grunge and alternative rock band Foo Fighters , which he founded.
Dave's beginnings in music
When a teenage Dave Grohl was taken to a concert in Chicago by a girlfriend in 1982, the experience awakened his passion for punk rock and the do-it-yourself spirit of the scene. This friend also played him records by bands like Misfits, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag , which further increased his interest in the genre . In addition , his favorite bands include Rush, Motörhead, Einstreiche Neuhäusern and Nine Inch Nails . Dave started his musical career as a teenager behind the drums in various student punk rock bands . Dave Grohl went on an extensive US tour with the band Scream for the first time in October 1986.

The rise with Nirvana and the Foo Fighters
After Scream resolution , Dave replaced Chad Channing in the grunge band Nirvana and recorded the legendary album Nevermind together with Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic in 1991 on. After Kurt Cobain's death on April 5, 1994 , Dave began recording original compositions . He played all the instruments in the studio himself. After he finished recording in October 1994, he decided to form a band instead of a solo project . In June 1995, the Foo Fighters' first, self-titled album was released. Eight more albums followed from 1997 to 2011 and over time the band became one of the most popular in their genre . From time to time Dave also worked with other bands he was friends with. In 2016, Rolling Stone ranked Dave Grohl 27th on the 100 Greatest Drummers of All Time .

The DG-335 is back!
As a long-time Gibson user, Dave has of course played a few guitars and has several signature instruments to his name. Dave's previous Gibson Signature guitars remain extremely popular and fetch high prices on the used market - if you can find anyone willing to part with these extremely popular models . Now, in collaboration with the Gibson custom shop, Epiphone is launching the Dave Grohl DG-335, a surprisingly affordable version of Dave's beloved blue ES-style electric guitar.



Luxurious design and high-quality parts
The Epiphone Dave Grohl DG-355 offers the combination of ES-335 and Trini Lopez model features that Dave wanted, including a semi-hollow ES body with encased diamond-shaped soundholes , a one-piece mahogany neck with an elliptical profile , a headstock Trini Lopez style with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuning machines, a laurel fretboard and split Diamond inlays. The pickup are Dave's preferred Gibson Burstbucker humbuckers , with a Burstbucker 2 on the neck and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position. They are wired with CTS potentiometers, Mallory capacitors and a Switchcraft 3-way toggle switch. An Epiphone Dave Grohl hardshell case is also including with this high quality guitar.
