Maestro Original Collection

The Maestro company may still be familiar to some people, as they were one of the best-known manufacturers of effects pedals in the 1960s and could be found in the arsenal of Pete Townshend, George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Peter Frampton, among others.

In 2022, Maestro is experiencing a resurrection and is launching with five new, completely analog pedals that keep both the classic Vintage design and the sound aesthetic of the old Maestro pedals alive and combine them with modern features and more diverse setting options. Each device is designed as a 2-in-1 pedal and offers two different sound characteristics thanks to a switch. The classic, three-color LED lighting in the Maestro logo can also be found in the Original Collection.

Fuzz Tone FZ-M

When it was introduced in 1962, the Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-1 was not only the first pedal from Maestro, but also the first fuzz pedal on the market. Most people will know it as an essential sound component from the Rolling Stones' legendary “(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction”. The FZ-M follows in the tradition of that pedal, delivering its popular sound in the “Classic” setting and a thicker, more modern fuzz sound in the “Modern” setting.

Ranger overdrive

The Ranger is an overdrive whose sound characteristics are based on the distortion of Vintage tube amplifiers and is optimized for “always-on”use . With the mode switches set to “Lo”, the Ranger functions more as a kind of booster with lower distortion and high velocity.

Invader Distortion

For those who want a little more, the Invader offers decent high- gain reserves and a wide range of different distortion sounds . An internal noise gate can be switched on and off using a switches , and the threshold is set with a small controls inside the housing.

Comet chorus

With the Comet chorus , interstellar chorus sounds are within your grasp. In “Earth” mode, you hear a typically analogue, warm and shimmering chorus sound, which is expanded in “Orbit” mode to include the complex and exciting sounds of a rotary speaker.

Discover delay

Thanks to its analog circuit, the Discoverer delay impresses with a typically warm and classic sound with a delay time of 20 ms to 600 ms. Modulation can be added using a toggle switch. This can be changed using two internal potentiometers and ranges from a tape-like flutter to an intense pitch shift.
