With the California Traditional acoustic guitars, Fender has some exciting models in its range of acoustic guitars . Various designs are available under this umbrella name: “Newporter” as a modern interpretation of a Vintage flair with a cutaway for better access to the high registers, “Redondo” in a confidently stocky look that Fender introduced in 1968, “King” a no less confident dreadnought , “Palomino” a smaller guitar with a mini jumbo body and “Malibu” in a slim appearance, as Fender first introduced it in 1965. The California Traditional series is divided into several model series.
Fender California Traditional Classic & Special series
The Newporter from the Classic series impresses with a body made of solid mahogany , a solid spruce top and an exclusive Fishman pickup system if the situation requires electrical amplification . The latter is tastefully integrated into the rib and contains a tuner so that nothing stands in the way of a harmonious tuning . The neck is made of mahogany with a Pao Ferro fretboard and features a slim-taper C neck profile and a slightly sloped headstock in the iconic Fender form. The Gloss Aged Cognac Burst finish completes the high-quality optics of the guitar.
The Special series is almost identical, but the top is also made of solid mahogany and combined with a satin natural finish . The body shapes Newporter and Redondo are available here. As with the Classic series , you also get a high-quality gig bag .
Player series
The Player series is aimed primarily at beginners who are looking for a high-quality instrument for different situations . The body in Redondo, Newporter or Malibu form is made of mahogany with a solid spruce top , the neck is also made of mahogany with a walnut fretboard . Thanks to the integrated Fishman CD-1 pickup system , the guitar can be easily recorded or connected to a system in live situations. When it comes to the finish , you can choose between Sunburst and Natural .
Vintage series
Anyone who appreciates the authentic look of bygone years will find what they are looking for in the California Traditional Vintage series . The body in King, Palomino or Malibu form is made of sapele with a solid spruce top , the neck is made of Nato with a walnut fretboard . In addition to the acoustic guitars, you can also discover the popular Fender Kingman bass as a Vintage version. The finishes are also inspired by the Vintage look; classic and simple colors such as sunburst, aged natural or black are available. The guitars are delivered in a Vintage-style hard case , the Kingman bass in a sturdy gig bag.
