Fender American Ultra II
Ultra-modern guitars and basses with exciting features
Since its market launch, the American Ultra series from Fender has stood for the most modern and highest quality electric guitars and basses that do not come from the custom shop. With the American Ultra II, the next generation of high-end Fender instruments is now in the starting blocks. This takes over many of the specs of the old Ultra, but also impresses with new functions and features. The colour range of the series has of course also been upgraded. A mix of new and vintage specs
Body and neck
Like the Elite and Ultra models before them, the Ultra II models have an alder body. The alder wood supports classic Fender tone and is modelled on the back in the ergonomic ‘Ultra’ shaping, which not only looks beautiful, but also feels very comfortable when playing. The flat tapered neck foot offers plenty of room for the fretting hand when playing up to the highest registers. All models are again painted with a thin polyurethane finish, but there have been some changes to the colour palette: in addition to the already familiar finishes, such as Ultraburst and Texas Tea, new colours have found their way into the Ultra II series, which, like the first Fender Custom Colours, are based on car paints that are particularly popular with sports cars. A little touch of vintage Fender feeling is also a must for the Ultra II!
Noiseless Pickups
Fender's expressive Ultra II Noiseless Vintage pickups respond excellently to your response and deliver crystal-clear Fender sounds without the annoying single-coil hum. The construction of the pickups has been optimised once again and the coils in the Ultra II Noiseless pickups have been reassembled: The top coil winds around Alnico V bar magnets to produce true Fender single-coil tone, while the bottom coil is isolated from the top coil and calibrated to preserve tone and eliminate distracting hum. With Fender's patented S-1™ Switch, you can switch the pickups in series or parallel, add the neck pickup in any switch position or split the humbucker, depending on the model variant. The treble bleed circuit retains the treble spectrum regardless of the volume.
Parts and equipment details
Other equipment highlights include Fender Deluxe locking tuners, Luminlay side dots for better orientation on the fingerboard and quartersawn maple necks with a modern ‘D’ profile, which are available with either ebony or maple fingerboards. A special visual highlight are the annodised aluminium pickguards in black, silver or gold, which stand out well against the bright colours of the guitars and basses.
