A novelty in this series is the Relic finish, which gives the look and feel of an instrument played over a long period of time. At the start of the new series , the San Dimas 1 model with two humbuckers and Floyd Rose 1000 Series Locking tremolo is available in three different Relic finishes.

The Charvel Pro-Mod Relic SRS San Dimas 1 HH's alder body is paired with a bolt-on maple neck that features two graphite reinforcing bars to resist bending and warping under environmental influences. The Speed Neck profile is designed for lightning-fast playing and completely unhindered position changes, while the comfortably rolled fingerboard edges give the well-rehearsed feel of an instrument that has had many hours of playing behind it and many more to come. The 12"-16" Compound Radius Pau Ferro fretboard with 22 jumbo frets and cream dot inlays is perfect for faster tempos. For musicians who tour regularly, truss rod access to adjust the truss rod at the base of the neck is a must, allowing for quick and convenient adjustment of neck relief.
The powerful Seymour Duncan JB and Seymour Duncan '59 humbucking pickup are mounted directly on the body and provide a powerful rock 'n' roll tone with lots of sweet overtones. A volume control and 3-way switches make this ax a straightforward instrument for players who need to quickly adjust their sound .
